National Unity Square: Beirut, Lebanon
On the Serail Hill southern slope, the garden was conceptualized in a cascading manner in accordance with the site topography. Elongated planes of gray stone and water mirrors, laid on a grass surface, step down towards the city. A row of jacaranda trees marks the edge between the steps and the Grand Serail façade. A sculpture by Maguerditch Mazmanian (Russia) represents the late Lebanese Prime Minister Rafic Hariri walking through the garden.
Starco Fountain: Beirut, Lebanon
In this triangular open space between Daouk Street and Starco commercial center, four solid stone bench features are linked by a step and shade trees. On the lower three benches street side, curved waterfalls dropping into pools add refreshment, sound and sparkling light, thus enhancing the street corner.
